Letter from Adian

I got word from my cousin today, first time in a couple months. I suppose it's lucky he was even able to get a letter out with how strict things have gotten over there. There's no question Esara Island has swung heavily into the realm of isolation over the last two decades, it's only just becoming more openly obvious now. I just feel bad for Tristan. If things are half as bad as Adian implies, she's facing a hell of an onslaught there.
It really is unfortunate the way it works. The Esra's use of magic and their exploration into that aspect of humanity that people don't understand causes them to fear them, and then an array of fear coming from all directions have caused the Esra to do the same in return. Then either side in the wrong territory pay the price for it; such as Tristan, who is over there and withstanding who knows what kind of racism and bullying for being from somewhere else.
Now if anyone can handle it, it's Tristan. She's the toughest person I've ever met, and she could probably beat the snot out of anyone on that island, if magic weren't involved at least. She can mentally handle anything thrown at her, I just worry those abilities are being put to the test. I know Roland and Adian and our friends over there are doing everything they can to give her a support system. I just hope it's enough to get her by so she doesn't feel like the weight of the world is sitting on her shoulders. I can't imagine what teasing and bullying by magic users must be like. Bullies without magic can be torturous and disgustingly creative, never-mind bullies who have access to powers that when used the wrong way could do unheard things.
She only has this year to go before she graduates, so hopefully that will be done, and she can be on her way home here. I'm trying to convince Adian to join as well. The BCC could use him. Whatever intellectual talents I have are dwarfed in comparison to Adian. He's a certified genius. If we could get him here, he would be a great asset to the BCC. Also, it would be great to have him around to talk to. I think I enjoy time spent with my cousin more than anyone, and it doesn't happen nearly enough.
